The need to boost immune system has never been greater than it is today. Whether your thinking about getting the vaccine or not, boosting the immune system will help you fight off the viruses so that you either don't get sick or you don't get as sick.
Inside your body there is an amazing protection mechanism called the immune system. It's designed to defend you against millions of bacteria microbes, viruses, toxins and parasites that would normally love to invade your body.
To understand the power of the immune system all you have to do is look at something when it dies. Within hours it's invaded by all sorts-none of these things are able to "take over you" when your immune system is working but the moment your immune system stops, the door is left wide open.
Your immune system works around the clock keeping you healthy and the only way we notice it is when it's failing.
For instance when you get a cut all sorts of bacteria and viruses enter the body through the break in the skin. Your immune system immediately responds and eliminates the invaders while the skin heals itself and seals the puncture
Each day we inhale thousands of germs that are floating in the air. Your immune system deals with all of them without a problem.
However, if that virus is missed, you can end up getting a cold or flu. The fact that we're able to get over a cold or flu is an indication that everything is working just fine.
When my daughter was younger, every time she got a cold her lymph nodes behind her neck and ear would become swollen. The reason it did this is because the lymphatic vessels drain the infection by carrying it to the nearest area where the immune response could be organized. Basically, the immune system was working to get rid of the infection.
If you're an allergy sufferer your immune system is overreacting to certain stimuli that other people don't react to at all.
In all cases it's very important to boost immune system through proper nutrition and rest.
What you see
The most obvious part of the immune system is what you can see. Your skin is an important part of the immune system. It acts as a primary boundary between germs and your body. Part of your skin's job is to act as a barrier in much the same way we use plastic wrap to protect food.
The skin also secretes antibacterial substances. These substances explain why you don't wake up in the morning with a layer of mold growing on your skin-most bacteria and spores that land on the skin die quickly.
Your nose, mouth and eyes are also obvious entry points for germs. Tears and mucus contain an enzyme (lysozyme) that breaks down the cell wall of many bacteria. Saliva is also antibacterial. Since the nasal passage and lungs are coated in mucus, many germs are not killed immediately and trapped in the mucus and soon swallowed.
Because of all these entry points, it makes sense to boost immune system so that the body can help itself fight off invaders.
What you don't see
The major cells of the immune system are the white blood cells. The lymphatic system is a network of lymph nodes connected by lymphatic vessels. Lymph nodes contain a mesh of tissue in which lymphocytes are tightly packed.
This mesh of lymphocytes filters, attacks, and destroys harmful organisms that cause infections. Lymph nodes are often clustered in areas where the lymphatic vessels branch off, such as the neck, armpits, and groin.
Our thymus, liver, spleen, appendix, bone marrow, and small collections of lymphatic tissue such as the tonsils in the throat and Peyer's patch in the small intestine-are also part of the lymphatic system. They too, help the body fight infection.

It's very important to listen to your body. By that I mean, get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Without proper rest, we become fatigued and thus can become run down leaving the door open once again depriving our immune system of one of the essentials.
Drink plenty of water, exercise and watch your diet. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and try and keep fast food intake down to a minimum. One of the best ways to boost immune system is by getting enough rest. Burning the candle at both ends does not help you at all and you will start to feel run down.
